School holidays sorted at the Market Place

THE summer holidays are here and parents looking for something to entertain their kids should look no further than the Market Place Theatre in Armagh with its range of superb July entertainment for young people.

Older children aged 12-18 years can take part in the hugely popular annual Musical Theatre workshop, ‘Showstoppers’.

They can make good use of the holidays to learn or perfect their skills in acting, singing and dancing.

Over the course of five days a professional director, musical director and choreographer will work with them on scenes, songs and dances from some of the most popular musicals around, before they perform ‘Showstoppers’ on The Market Place main stage in front of a live audience.

Showstoppers will run from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 2, from 10am to 4pm daily. Participation for the week costs £62.

Those who prefer to spectate rather than participate will love ‘Star Boy’, a delightful tale of a small boy who loves to explore.

As he is falling asleep one night he sees a shooting star and decides to go in search of it. His quest to capture the star takes him through the dark woods, over and under the sea and finally into space. But does he get his star?
