Sean Lock lined up for Alley

Comics Sean Lock and Des Bishop are among the big name bookings lined up for the Alley Theatre in Strabane over the coming months.

The theatre’s Autumn and Winter programme features over 75 events including country singing sensations Derek Ryan and Mike Denver.

Legendary writer and producer Martin Lynch brings two productions to the Alley Stage – 50 Shades of Red, White and Blue; and Two Sore Legs, whilst Alley favourites the Flann O’Brien Literary Festival and Johnny Crampsie Festival return with enhanced festival programmes.

Budding poets will also get the chance to compete in the Tyrone leg of the All Ireland Poetry Slam whilst culture vultures can take advantage of a returning Culture Night programme.

Family audiences can look forward to a range of events including the spectacular Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company with their latest production The Elves and the Shoe-Maker, Encore Performing Arts with A Christmas Wish, Much Ado Stage School with Once Upon....A Disney Song and St Columba’s Primary School with their Christmas Pageant.

Launching the new programme, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Elisha McCallion said “The Alley Theatre is really one of the jewels in the crown of our arts and cultural provision in the new Council district and the programme released today provides local and visiting audiences of all ages with a wide range of activities and events to look forward to. I will certainly be coming back to the Alley to enjoy some of those events in the coming months.”
