Searching for the Von Trapp children

Do you want to be in one of the most famous musicals of all time and follow in Connie Fisher’s footsteps?

To celebrate 60 years of show business Ballywillan Drama Group, Portrush are presenting The Sound of Music in the Riverside Theatre, Coleraine next January.

Children’s Auditions will be held in the Kelly Hall, Victoria Street, Portrush, this Thursday (September 8) at 7.15pm for the following roles: Kurt (11), Brigitta (10), Marta (8) and Gretl (6).

The other children have already been cast during the principal cast audition process. While the actual ages of the children is not important, their heights are. Louisa (13) has already been cast and is 5’2”, so all those auditioning must be at most 5ft tall. Auditions will consist of singing and delivery of learned lines.

There are 19 performances of the musical and therefore two teams of children will be chosen who will alternate performances. Rehearsals will take place from September onwards.
