Secret Sisters bound for Aunties

THE Secret Sisters will be in Auntie Annie’s Porterhouse on Thursday, May 19.

In advance of their upcoming support slot for Ray Lamontagne at the Olympia Theatre this March, country starlets The Secret Sisters have just announced details of their first ever Irish headline performances at the Academy 2 on the May 18 and Auntie Annies on May 19.

The Secret Sisters are a new-age traditional country music duo, consisting of vocalists Laura and Lydia Rogers, signed to Universal Republic/Beladroit Records.

Their 1950’s-inspired musical style has been described as “a guileless, rapturous mixture of rootsified pop”. The critically-acclaimed duo’s music has been compared to artists like The Everly Brothers and Doc Watson.

The Secret Sisters’ incredible story is as simple and true as the effortless harmonies that got them here.

The pure goldenrod from a pair of Alabama sisters direct from Muscle Shoals (barely twenty-somethings themselves) dare to cover the Sinatra untouchable ‘Something Stupid’ one minute, and deliver their own self-penned, soon-to-be signature anthem ‘Tennessee Me’ the next.

Tickets priced £7.50 are on sale from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and ticketmaster.ie
