Set your clocks for Sleeping Beauty - the wide awake panto!

THE alarm clock is ticking as the big countdown begins to Sleeping Beauty - the pantomime which opens at Belfast Waterfront on Saturday 24 November!

Presented by a fabulous cast and packed with gallant goodies and beastly baddies, families and children are going to love this dream panto. Sleeping Beauty may be in a world of her own but everyone else will be wide awake throughout this magical traditional Christmas adventure!

Sleeping Beauty stars highly respected local actor, Ivan Little, in his first ever panto dame role as Lady MaMa - Ivan’s looking forward to putting on the big wigs but insists the big butt is all his own work. The Sunday Life journalist and former UTV reporter is looking forward to making the news in Sleeping Beauty rather than reporting on it.

A stellar cast also sees Karen Hawthorne and Michael Lavery play the lead roles of Sleeping Beauty and the Prince and also features Tara Lynne O’Neill as the Fairy pimpleton with Mary Moulds as Cheryl Dole and Julie Maxwell as Katie Ferry.

Presented by LANA Productions, Sleeping Beauty is produced by Martin Lynch and Joe Rea, written by PJ O’Reilly, directed by Lisa May with set and costumes by Diana Ennis.

“I am delighted that we have put together such a fantastic cast lead this year in Ivan Little. Sleeping Beauty promises to be bigger and better than last year’s panto. Directed by the wonderful Lisa May with brilliant songs from Mark Dougherty and fantastic Choreography by Deborah Maguire we are sure to be in for a festive treat for all the family.” (Martin Lynch).

Waterfront pantomimes are like no other: Sleeping Beauty audiences will get so close to the larger than life characters and to all of the action that they’ll actually become part of the adventure as it unfolds… with loads of chances to join in!

Our story begins as everyone celebrates the christening of the beautiful baby princess…. except for the Wicked Fairy who vents her fury at being uninvited by casting a truly evil spell, dooming the princess to sleep for a hundred years! Can the spell be broken and is there anyone who can wake the princess from her eternal sleep? You won’t know unless you go!

Belfast Waterfront and GBL Productions would like to thank Dreams in Connswater Shopping Centre for providing Sleeping Beauty’s bed.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are available online, from the Waterfront and Ulster Hall Box Offices and by calling 028 9033 4455.
