Alongside Metallica, Megadeth & Anthrax, Slayer are considered one of the “Big Four” of Thrash Metal. The band was formed in Huntington Park, California, in 1981, by guitarists Jeff Hannerman & Kerry King. They shot to mainstream fame following the 1986 release of “Reign In Blood”, their third studio LP, which was released on Def Jam records, and was produced by Rick Rubin.

The band have withstood the changing musical movements in Metal over the last 30 years, championing a brand of dark speed / trash metal which has proved both timeless, and hugely influential.

They are regularly cited as one of the greatest metal bands of all time by critics & fans alike, notably with reference to their live show, which is as powerful and energetic today as it always has
been.

Tickets for Slayer at The Limelight 1, priced £35 + booking fees, go on sale this Friday at 9am. This is an 18+ event.
