Slideshow: Game of Thrones Sallagh tour guide

Filming for fantasy epic Game of Thrones has been taking place between Glenarm and Ballygalley this week.

Privately-owned land just off Sallagh Road was the location where cast and crew – including 400 extras – gathered to shoot scenes for the upcoming sixth season of the smash-hit TV show.

Just last week, star Maisie Williams – who plays Arya Stark – was snapped filming scenes at Carnlough Harbour.

The HBO-produced show is largely filmed in Northern Ireland and according to recent audited figures from Northern Ireland Screen, it has contributed an estimated £110m to the local economy.

The Sallagh Braes area and the breathtaking Bronze age hill fort at Knock Dhu have been used several times before for Game of Thrones scenes.

You can walk the hill sides and take in the stunning scenery from several points. We recommend the Knock Dhu car park on Feystown Road as a starting point.

The paths are firm and the way is clearly signposted.

Do not bring your dog as this is sheep country. As always pick a good day and always come prepared for our temperamental weather.
