So much to choose from at The Playhouse

On Saturday 4th February, The Playhouse in association with B.F Entertainments presents the Gary Moore Tribute Concert featuring the incomparable Lee Hedley Band, Sam Davidson (Taste) and The Pontiax (Blues Band).

Both Lee Hedley Band and Sam Davidson and The Pontiax are well-travelled and no strangers to the live music scene both here and abroad.

On this occasion they will come together to pay homage to Northern Ireland’s finest blues rock guitarist Gary Moore, who sadly passed away on 6th February 2011.

Lee’s own guitarist Marty Rowland who was a founding member of Flash Harry (back in the day) has been compared to Gary Moore by the music press and fans alike.

Sam Davidson has been fronting John Wilson’s Taste for the last decade touring across Europe to the soundtrack of Rory Gallagher. Now he is stepping aside specially to honour Gary Moore’s collection of classic rock and blues.

The concert will display both bands interpretations of Gary Moore’s finest classics spanning both the rock AND the blues spectrum that the guitar legend was loved for.

This concert is expected to be a sell-out so early booking is advised.

On Friday 17th February, the North Coast Music Collective and Portrush Playhouse Club Presents an exclusive one off Irish Show with London Ska, Punk, Dub Band, the Inner Terrestrials from London.

On the road for 16 years, London’s legendary Inner Terrestrials are a stomping mix of dub, punk, ska, folk and general anarchic danceability.

They get audiences all over the world going crazy, from Bristol to Berlin, from Warsaw to Tokyo and beyond.

Serial travellers they’ve played more than 20 countries and countless festivals over the years and are as passionate as a band can be.

Original pioneers of the uk dub punk sound. Heads up folks they’re coming to a festival/venue/bar/squat/barn/field/site near you soon!

Founder members J (vocals & guitars) and Fran (bass &vocals) teamed up with drummer Paco of Conflict in 1996 and haven’t looked back since.

Their debut album IT! was originally self released in 1996 and continues to be a best seller with underground distributors throughout Europe.

A live album Escape From New Cross was issued in 1997 (vinyl only), Enter The Dragon EP in 1999, and Barry Horne single in 2002. Following the recent Clash cover single Guns Of Brixton, the I.T. released their studio album: X in February 2004, on MASS PROD/MALOKA.

A new LP is currently underway.
