SONI showcase returns

Local promoters SONI - Sounds of Northern Ireland - host the latest in their monthly series of showcase gigs at Hague’s Bar in Lisburn on Thursday February 26.

The team celebrated a remarkable seven years of gigs in the city last month, and the nights are still going strong.

This month will see four acts, all with strong links to Lisburn, taking the stage. Headliners Smoking Tongue are a rock band with a soulful edge - with powerful, passionate tunes and an intense delivery. One of the area’s finest acts, they always put on a memorable show.

Special guests are The Titanics - a relatively new band which specialises in spiky indie rock’n’roll. and immediately engaging songs. A band currently growing in stature on the NI music scene.

Also playing, and making welcome return to the SONI stage is Deadlights - a tight and hugely impressive alternative rock outfit, playing their first live show in over six months.

Kicking the night off is local troubadour Heff - stage name of Mark Heffer, formerly of Whanau - who plays unique, progressive influenced solo tunes.

Doors open at 8.30pm, and admission is still only £4.50 - with a welcoming atmosphere guaranteed.
