St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s success

Pupils from P 5/6 in St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Primary School in Ballycastle recently took part in a creative writing competition which was open to schools throughout Northern Ireland.

The students had to be as succinct as possible in their writing and ensure they used a high level of sophistication in their vocabulary.

Three winners in the competition came from the one class. Their teacher, Mrs Mc Gouran commented: “All the pupils in the class worked really hard to produce a great piece of writing that was creative and interesting to read.

“I am not surprised that the judges selecting the work of these three children as their stories were outstanding and unique in their content and style. I have no doubt that they will continue to entertain me and their successive teachers with their enthralling stories that capture your imagination.”
