The Limavady based music and arts extravaganza is up for Best Small Festival, Best Line-up and Best Family Festival.

For the second year running the festival has been nominated for three awards and the team behind it are hoping to follow on from their success last year when they were crowned Ireland’s Best Small Festival.

Event Director Ross Parkhill said that everyone involved in putting on the event was delighted to have been recognised for all their efforts once again.

“It’s great to be nominated for three categories at this year’s Irish Festival Awards,” Said Ross. “So much effort is put in by so many people each year, so any time we get recognised in anyway is a huge bonus and really makes all the hard work seem all the more worthwhile.”

Having won Best Small Festival last year, back-to-back wins in that category would really lay down a marker for the event and as the voting is undertaken entirely by the public, the team at Stendhal are asking that if you came along to the event last summer and enjoyed it, that you let others know by voting.

“What pleased us most about winning the award last year was that it is totally decided upon by the public. It showed us that we are connecting with our audience and that people really think that we are putting on a good show,” added Ross.

Ross added that they are also happy to be nominated in the Best Family category as Stendhal tries incredibly hard to be accessible for families.

“We make it as cheap as possible for families to come along and put on a dedicated family programme which grows every year. Families are important to us at Stendhal so hopefully we might have done enough to do something in that category too.”

Last but by no means least, is the nomination for Best Line-up, something which again the team at Stendhal say they are very proud of.

“Best Line-up would be an amazing award to take home because so much of our line-up is home-grown, Northern Irish talent. We always aim to bring in a number of bands from other places, we had Frightened Rabbit from Scotland, Paddy Casey and Tucan from the Republic this summer to go along with The Undertones, Bronagh Gallagher and a host of top class acts from right on our doorstep,” Ross concluded.

You can vote for Stendhal on The Irish Festival Awards website www.irishfestivalawards.ie/votenow.html - voting closes at the end of January 2015.
