Summer fun continues at Mossley Mill

The summer fun continued at Mossley Mill on Saturday, July 28 with a family activity day during which visitors got the chance to try out a range of activities such as pond dipping and butterfly hunts.

It wasn’t all about the bugs; garden dazzlers and clay sculptures were created while wool spinning demonstrations and a linen patchwork workshops kept everyone busy. And keen ‘Nature Detectives’ of all ages had to work hard to find all the clues to solve the wildlife crime.

The Civic Square provided the perfect location for a picnic and garden games including croquet, giant Jenga and giant Snakes and Ladders ensured that the fun continued throughout the day.

Visitors to the Museum at The Mill also enjoyed ‘Megaliths’, the popular family-friendly exhibition, which ran at the Carnmoney Road North venue until August 4.

The summertime activity day was held as part of a Heritage Lottery funded project which aims to involve the local community in learning about Mossley Mill and its surroundings. More workshops, talks and family days will be held throughout the year.
