Summer youth activities in Gilford

GILFORD Community Forum has arranged a number of fun activities for children and young people during the summer holiday period.

On Friday July 29 there’s ‘Gilford’s Got Talent’ to look forward to! A number of acts have been lined up to showcase the best youth talent that Gilford has to offer and the action begins at 7pm in Gilford British Legion. Entry is £2 per person with all proceeds going to Action Cancer. Everyone welcome.

Wednesday 10th August, Banbridge District Council has organised a story telling session for 5-7 year olds in Gilford library, from 10am to 1pm. Entry is £2 and places can be booked by contacting Sarah McNeill at Gilford Resource Centre.

Thursday 11th August, Banbridge District Council has organised plasticine model dragon making for 7-10 year olds in Gilford Resource Centre from 10am to 1pm. Entry is £5.00 and places can be booked by contacting Sarah McNeill at Gilford Resource Centre.

On Monday August 15, React Ltd will be facilitating a fun, interactive session on drugs and alcohol abuse for 8-11 year olds in Gilford Resource Centre from 10am to 1.00pm. Lunch will be provided for all participants and from 2-4pm Belfast Circus School will be coming to Gilford British Legion to teach the group stilt walking, juggling and tight rope walking skills. There are 12 places and children must book their place with Sarah McNeill at Gilford Resource Centre. Cost is £1 per child and children must attend the whole day session.

Tuesday August 16, React Ltd and Belfast Circus School will be back again but this time for 12-16 year olds, at the same times, same cost and in the same locations. There are 12 places and again young people must book with Sarah and attend whole day session.

Wednesday August 17, a circus-themed arts and crafts workshop will take place in Gilford library for 8-11 year olds from 11-1pm. The workshop is free of charge and there are 15 places which must be booked with Sarah at Gilford Resource Centre.
