Sunflower Fest is ready to bloom

THIS weekend, from Friday August 20 to Sunday August 22, a brand new event will make it's first appearance on the Northern Ireland music and arts calendar.

The Sunflower Fest 2010 is set to be a truly unique weekend, set in beautiful County Down countryside at Tubby's Farm, 31 Cabra Road, Legacurry, just outside Lisburn and Hillsborough. Plus it's for a great cause – all profits from the weekend go towards rebuilding Haiti.

Music is the centrepiece of this festival, but there will be so much more than that.

Over the course of the three days, no less than 43 bands and acts from Northern Ireland, plus guests from the Republic and Scotland will take to the festival's 2 stages (one outdoor, one indoor), and provide high quality performances.

Promoters SO:NI (Sounds of N.I) have overseen the line-up for this festival, and some of the finest bands in the country have been handpicked for the show.

This is also a family day out – with great food on-site ranging from casual to fine dining, with drinks supplied by Bar Burgundy. For the kids – young and old – there will be storytelling, music workshops, live art, face painting, hide and seek, bouncy castle, big slide, sumo wrestling and rock'n'roll football.

Camping is available on site, for just 5 per person on arrival, and parking is also provided at 2 per car, though if you choose to cycle, the organisers will give you a free drink on the house.
