Sunflowerfest is back for a fifth year

Sunflowerfest will celebrate its fifth birthday this August with organisers promising to deliver their most memorable festival yet.

The popular festival returns to Hillsborough once again from August 22 - 25.

This year’s music line-up will feature an eclectic mix of the best local talent, emerging artists and international headliners across five stages, amid the beautiful surroundings of Tubby’s Farm, Hillsborough.

The festival’s organiser Michael Magowan commented: “We’re thrilled to be bringing Sunflowerfest back for its fifth year. The support we’ve received has been incredible - our fans have really embraced our ethos. Sunflowerfest’s about giving people somewhere they can escape for one weekend of the year and have a lot of fun, enjoy great music and just really be themselves.

“Right now, we’re working hard to deliver an exceptional line-up and we’re also planning a few new additions down at the farm this year.”

There’s more than music for Sunflowerfest’s discerning festival goer; surprises abound.

The Moot, an arena of ideas, will host debates, poetry, comedy and all things cerebral around the campfire late into the evening.

The Enchanted Glade of Mystery and Surprises will feature a programme of family shows within a wonderland of make-believe while The Kidz Zone will have heaps of interactive cool stuff for children.

For night owls there will be a late night Silent Disco and Cinema Tent - firm favourites from previous years.

Families are again very welcome this year and there will be a separate campsite provided.

Sunflowerfest kindly acknowledges the assistance of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Lisburn City Council in the production of this year’s event.
