The ‘Khulula’ choir is part of Challenge Ministries (Swaziland) and is made up of orphans and abandoned children and teenagers, who have overcome physical and emotional traumas and now bring a unique and energetic blend of song, dance and life transforming stories to appreciative audiences.

Their infectious smiles and exuberant songs, betray the often heart-breaking reality of their life stories.  No one who has heard them has ever been the same again.

Taking place on Saturday May 17 at 7.30pm, the Ballymena concert is part of an exhaustive tour of churches, schools and civic events throughout Northern Ireland to highlight the work of Challenge Ministries in a region which has the world’s highest HIV infection rate.

This, along with the impact of a global recession, ensures that Swaziland is devoid of the infrastructure needed to provide for struggling children. Members of the choir have their every educational and medical and living costs met by Challenge Ministries. Without the organisation, they would probably be destitute.

However, the success stories of the children within the singing group should encourage those who have helped in the past and may want to help in the future – people who have chosen to ‘be the difference in the lives of these amazing young people.’

Any donations received will go towards the choir and its on-going ministry of love.
