Tai Chi at Broughshane

Members of Broughshane WI got a chance to sample the benefits of the Chinese Martial Art of Tai Chi at their November meeting.

Guest speaker at the meeting, Fiona Jennings, led members in some practice moves and explained that the art can be very beneficial for the mind and body of older people.

And, after trying out a couple of short sequences members agreed that it was indeed mentally relaxing.

Fiona Marshall gave a vote of thanks. President May Small welcomed new member Marie Harvey to the meeting. Competition winner for an old time remedy was Maureen Ballantine and Audrey Deacon’s name came up trumps in the magazine draw. Always supportive of our local village, May Small extended congratulations on behalf of Broughshane W.I. to Main Street, Broughshane on being awarded “Best Street” in Northern Ireland in the recent nationwide gardening competition “Cultivation Street”.
