Johnny Brady and his band will set the ball rolling on Friday May 1st at what promises to be a bumper occasion given the level of anticipation and indeed excitement that have already been engendered by this initiative.

The new-look Tannery boasts excellent amenities including a first-class dance floor, excellent bars, first-class restaurant facilities and extensive parking – in short, all that is required to ensure a good night out.

And when it is considered that only the cream of country bands will be performing this serves to make the Tannery, located just off the main Airport Road close to Moira, an appealing proposition.

There are few bands enjoying quite the level of popularity in which Johnny Brady finds himself immersed just now and it’s no surprise that his visit to the venue has triggered considerable reaction.

He will be followed on Friday May 8th by Mick Flavin and his Band while Ritchie Remo and his talented big band will provide the music on Friday May 15th.

Then it will be the turn of Jim Devine to take the stage on Friday May 22nd with Gerry Guthrie and his talented outfit following on May 29th.

The Tannery’s proprietor Derek Patterson is keen to see dancing as it should be and to this end he is pushing the boat out to ensure that comfort, good service and a convivial environment pertain.

“We want people to come in and sample our facilities and enjoy them. There is a very robust market for country dancing and we like to think that we can play a part in helping to fulfil this demand,” says Derek.

“There has been a tradition of country dancing established here and now we are keen to revive this and make it a mecca for dancers.”

The bands will take top the stage at 11.00pm with DJ Paul Martin spinning the best of country hits from 9.00pm and admission will be £12 with doors opening at 9.45pm.

There will be attractive dine and dance deals on offer and details of these can be had by contacting the reception desk at 028 92611409.
