Tequila Mockingbird at the Bronte club

LOCAL musician and former Banbridge Academy student Tom McConnell is looking forward to his debut show at the Bronte Music Club on July 26.

As a singer and guitarist with Scottish band Tequila Mockingbird Tom will stop off at the club during the band’sIrish summer tour.

The group will be performing their Salsa extravaganza and tickets are available at the door for just £8. With their unique blend of exquisite Latin music, and their own Salsa versions of classic tunes ranging from The Beatles to the Spice Girls, Tequila Mocking-bird are a Summer sensation that you’d simply be a fool to miss out on!

Tequila Mocking-bird played their debut headline show in Edinburgh’s Voodoo Rooms in November 2010, where they sold out the venue. Since then, this eclectic bunch of Edinburgh University music students have played in some of Scotland’s most prestigious venues including one of the year’s biggest parties in Edinburgh Castle in May 2011, as well as a headline show in the musical mecca that is Edinburgh’s Jazz Bar.

The band have recorded and self-released their debut single, ‘El Gato’, which has received much praise from Scottish music-lovers and is due to be released for digital download in July, and is also available to buy at shows.
