Local showman Rodd Hogg is thrilled to be linking up with TV mentalist David Meade for the RBS Sports & Social Club showpiece in the Culloden Hotel on Saturday, November 23.

Around 300 guests are expected at the event which is held annually and raises funds for charity. The chosen charity this year will be The Paul Ward at the RVH which aids children from birth to their early teens with severe neurological and neurosurgical problems.

Earlier this year David Meade’s infant son George suffered neurological illness from birth and required intensive care treatment at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

His Irish tour was postponed when little George was rushed to hospital. The popular star of the Make Believe programme then released a statement thanking the public for the support he and wife Elaine had received.

Dad-of-three Rodd Hogg - whose baby son Jake was born earlier this month - described the invite to take part in the fundraiser as “an honour.”

“It was David who rang me and put me forward for this. He told me that some of his friends had seen me working and had been raving to him about me,” Rodd said.

“He told me he’s really excited to meet me and see what I do. For me that was an amazing feeling, especially coming from the best in the business.”
