‘The Big Draw’ gets streetwise in Coleraine this Saturday

The centre of Coleraine will be crawling with artists on October 4 – and you can be one of them, as The Big Draw comes to town!

From 10.30am to 4.30pm, a number of streets in the town centre will welcome artists of all ages, and organisers will suggest a number of ideas for sketching and drawing - Bridge Street, Queen Street, The Diamond, Church Street, Kingsgate Street, the old Xtravision store and St. Patrick’s Church will all be hosting drawing sessions.

The Coleraine event has been supported by Coleraine Borough Arts Committee and the Town Centre Events Team, with additional sponsorship from Faber Castell.

The events in the town centre are completely free and they’re aimed at everyone – The Big Draw is a national event and there will be over 1500 events on offer throughout the UK, between October 1 and November 2.

Participants are invited to draw a footballing statue in his Coleraine colours and have a quick game of football in the Diamond while you’re at it.

Draw a Pint at the Old Courthouse in Waterside from 8pm. Join an outdoor life class in the Diamond and draw a busker in action; Take shelter in your very own market stall and draw a shop front; Take a very long line for a walk with your family and friends in Bridge Street; Bring a drawing with you on the theme ‘It’s our world’, and show it with others in the old Xtravision store – or just draw one on the day

There will be events happening throughout the day – just show up and enjoy!
