The Yorkies are coming to town

Craigavon Civic Centre will be filled with the sound of Military Music next month when the Band of the Yorkshire Regiment pays a flying visit to County Armagh.

The bandsmen, all part-time army reservists, are visiting Northern Ireland on their Annual Camp in order to undergo mandatory military tests and training, but are still managing to fit in a few concerts in the province, which will be in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

Capt Gary Clegg, Director of Music said, “This will be our very first trip to Northern Ireland. We are especially looking forward to performing County Armagh, which we hear has a fine musical tradition.” The concert will take place on Saturday, August 8 at 8pm. Entry is £8 which will go to help soldiers, ex-soldiers and families in time of need. Concessions available for OAPs and young children.

Tickets are available from DUP and UUP Offices in Portadown and Lurgan and from the Civic Centre, or by calling 9267 8112.
