All the ingredients to appeal to Marvel fans

Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel’s latest property to reach the big screen, possessing the same amount of humour and visual flair which have made their output so successful.

Peter Quill, a human abducted by space pirates in the late 1980’s, assumes the identity Star-Lord. On the planet Morag, Star-Lord steals an orb he believes to be a relic but is in fact a powerful weapon.

Ronan the Accuser, an alien who wishes to possess the power of the orb, sends Gamora, the adopted daughter of the mutant titan Thanos who reluctantly serves as an assassin to him, to retrieve it.

Through this orb Star-Lord comes into contact with Rocket, an anthropomorphic bounty hunter Raccoon and his humanoid plant friend Groot, as well as Drax the Destroyer, a superhuman who needs Gamora to take revenge on Ronan. A motley crew of misfits, they make for an unconventional team of heroes.

There’s a whole lot going on in Guardians of the Galaxy, often too much to keep track of.

Even if you don’t always understand the busy plot, Guardians of the Galaxy has all the ingredients to appeal to fans of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and enough action to entertain the uninitiated.
