An album to delight and baffle

Eight out of 10 listeners will have disregarded Damon Albarn’s solo album Everyday Robots after one listen.

The ninth will remain forever baffled by this array of lo-fi introspection, while the 10th will fall hopelessly in love with it.

I’m wavering between bafflement and adoration at this album which contains countless pockets of beauty, but doesn’t leave a lasting footprint. There’s a fine line between the divine and the absurd and this album demonstrates it perfectly. GC
