Blood Brothers at the Forum

Written by Willy Russell, the legendary Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

The story is a contemporary nature versus nurture plot, revolving around fraternal twins Mickey and Eddie, who were separated at birth and one raised in a wealthy family while the other raised in a poor family.

Originally developed as a school play, Blood Brothers debuted in Liverpool before Russell transferred it to West End for a short run in 1983.

Few musicals have received quite such acclaim as the multi-award winning Blood Brothers.

Bill Kenwright’s production surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End, one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone. It has been affectionately christened the ‘Standing Ovation Musical’.

The superb score includes Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.

The 2016 tour stars pop singer Lyn Paul in the lead role of Mrs Johnstone, the mother of the twin boys with a heartbreaking decision to make.

Lyn Paul, who sang with the New Seekers, is also a familiar face on screen, having taken on roles in Emmerdale, Doctors, and Holby City.

The musical will run at the Millennium Forum each evening at 8pm. There will also be a matinee on Thursday October 6 at 1pm for schools, as well as a Saturday matinee at 3pm.
