Boss makes his own rules with 18th LP

High Hopes, the 18th studio album from Bruce Springsteen, is far from conventional. On it he gives life to songs that didn’t make previous albums as well as reinventing some old tunes and presenting a trio of obscure cover versions.

Tying these disparate elements together is the fact all the tracks were re-recorded by The Boss in the past year.

Given the vast chronology of its tracks, the album has a disjointed, mixed-up feel, but as a body of work it’s definitely better out than in. GC
