Bromance is built to last on 22 Jump Street

Schmidt, played by the thick-necked, yet oddly attractive Channing Tatum, embraces his new-found status on the university’s football team, while Jenko, played by the clumsily tubby, yet wonderfully endearing Jonah Hill, takes refuge with his fellow Arts students. As if being assigned to oust the University’s drug lord wasn’t enough, the pair must stand firm in the face of adversity, as Schmidt’s football fame and brand new BFF, Zook, threaten the demise of the police pair’s bromance.

It isn’t hard to tell that Jonah Hill was on board with the script-writing, and the onscreen chemistry between him and Tatum is so natural that the majority of their wit seems improvised. As well as that, there are plenty of in-jokes, which audiences of 21 Jump Street will appreciate. Whilst the film follows the familiar plot of its prequel, we are soon swept up into this satiric, self-conscious sea of comedic genius. Fantastically funny one-liners and general laddish humour ensure there is never a dull moment on 22 Jump Street.
