Fragile collection of skeletal poems
Yeah Yeah Yeah’s lead singer Karen O fails to impress with her solo album entitled Crush Songs.
Stripped back to just an electric guitar she sounds fragile on this collection of skeletal poems, most not getting beyond the two-minute mark. It’s one of the most disappointing albums I’ve heard in some time, a barrage of unfinished symphonies, devoid of hooks or memorable lines. Rapt and the cover of The Doors’ Indian Summer are the only tracks worth a second listen. GC
