The first 20 minutes of Gravity are shot as one fluid take - its like watching a play, albeit one set in outer space. Sandra Bullock deserves praise for her mainly isolated performance.
Gravity is quite an original premise and is a good film, but its just good – not the revolutionary motion picture most are heralding it as. Its all built on suspense (will they get home or not).
Across an hour and a half, that suspense could only be maintained for so long, resulting in very slow periods of general floating about.
Gravity was a disappointment. Though I was taken with the ending, for the last 20 minutes or so, I’d all but given up on it.
