Living history on Derry’s Walls

Among the many hundreds of people who supported the Wave on the Walls on Sunday were street performers and members of one local family with historic links with the city stretching back hundreds of years.

Agnes Beresford Ash and her daughter Melanie Cunningham thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon on the Walls and in the city centre, where Agnes two grandsons Nicholas and Jonathan, and as an extra treat the family group enjoyed ice cream from one of the scores of vendors’ stalls, many of which were also very much of the period.
