New production of Blood Brothers takes to the Belvoir Studio stage

AT the end of this month the play of Willy Russell’s classic ‘Blood Brothers’ will be staged at the Belvoir Players Studio, directed by local man Simon Cunningham.

‘Blood Brothers’, which is fast-moving and perceptive, entertaining and thought-provoking, funny yet ultimately tragic, tells the story of twin boys born into a large working class family who are separated at birth when their natural mother can’t afford to keep both and gives one up for adoption.

Blood Brothers looks at the differences and conflicts of their upbringing, their relationships with each other and with their real and adopted mothers.

Produced by Showcase Productions and directed by Simon Cunningham, the cast includes Ross Chambers, Adam Duff, Cristin McAuley, Michelle Harkin, Sean Harkin, Lauren Watterson, Jamie Johnston, Aaron Kavanegh, Megan Mooney, Mark Pauley and Aileen Kelly.

The show will be staged at the Belvoir Player Studio, Belvoir Drive in Belfast on September 30 and October 1. Tickets available by calling 028 9049 1210 or 028 9064 9835. Tickets are selling fast so book early to avoid disappointment.

This play is also on the GCSE English and Drama curriculum so is a wonderful opportunity for students to see the play live.
