Upliftingly bleak stuff from Swede

They say the best music is written when artists are going through times of tribulation.

I’m not aware who was raining on Lykke Li’s parade when she wrote the songs for ‘I Never Learn’, but it’s plain to hear she was soaked to the skin by black stormclouds.

It’s a departure from her early, quirky sound on ‘Youth Novels’ with tearjerking pop ballads like ‘Love Me Like I’m Not Made Of Stone’ and ‘Just Like a Dream’ to the fore.

Upliftingly bleak stuff from the Swedish singer. GC
