There is lots to do in Lisburn this summer

The Down Royal Race Course, established 1685, is Ireland’s oldest and plays host to a variety of events throughout the summer.

Next up is the Magners Race evening on Friday July 24, a great night at the races guaranteed and if you’ve never been before, you can download a “Little Black Book” of racing jargon, fashion, tips and much more from the Down Royal website.

Have you ever been down to Drumbo Park Greyhound Stadium? It offers so much more than just racing. The recently developed stadium boasts several bars and a restaurant overlooking the track, meaning you never miss a moment of excitement. Drumbo offers a great night out for birthdays, hen and stag parties, corporate functions and weekends away.

If it’s action you’re after, why not head to Lisburn from Monday August 3 to Saturday August 8 for a week of exhilarating motorcycle race events at Dundrod, culminating in the international Grand Prix, the world’s fastest road race.

With vantage points both inside and outside the circuit, the Ulster Grand Prix is fun for all the family.

Lisburn also plays host to incredible local and international music talent this summer.

This year’s Sunflowerfest brings British band Dreadzone, rap rock band Senser and a host of other artists and performers to Tubby’s Farm, Hillsborough.

And if you really love music, then the Hilden Beer and Music Festival is not to be missed. Hosting three stages and stocking over thirty ales, stouts, lagers and ciders sourced from the UK and Ireland, the three-day open air festival is held on the grounds of Hilden Brewery in Lisburn, the oldest independent brewery on the island of Ireland.

More of a foodie than a groupie? Well, we have it all and it’s the best around. From the Hillsborough International Oyster Festival (Tuesday 1st - Sunday 6th September) to our family day at Ballance House’s Raspberry and Tea Day, there are all kinds of delicious, beloved and brand new foods to taste.
