Three artists come together at Flowerfield

Flowerfield Arts Centre will be presenting a new exhibition entitled '˜Contours' during September.

‘Contours’ is an exhibition by three artists: Anne Marie Hughes, Kevin McClelland and Allan Offord, who met as mature students while studying for an Associate Degree in Fine and Applied Arts at the North West Regional College.

Their professional backgrounds are in the diverse fields of medicine, architecture and education but they have found a common interest in visual art.

Their works are a personal response to the contours of the human form and to those of the landscape.

The show incorporates drawings, paintings and sculpture ranging from representational work through to abstraction.

“For me art is a window to our experience and emotion,” explained Anne Marie.

“Sculpture excites me, allowing me to engage different dimensions and present subtle complexity within simple form.

The Contours exhibition will open in the Main Gallery at Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart, from 12noon on Saturday September 3 and continues until Saturday September 24.
