Top crime writers coming to Coleraine for ‘Northern Noir’

A panel comprising of home-grown crime writers such as Brian McGilloway, Eoin McNamee, Stuart Neville and emerging crime novelist Steve Cavanagh will be in residence to compel visitors to come along and experience this amazing line-up.

The evening’s exceptional talent begins with best-selling author Brian McGilloway leading discussions on crime writing and inviting the audience to ask questions.

In addition, all four have recently contributed to the successful crime anthology ‘Belfast Noir’ a collection of stirring and dark short stories. The evening will appeal to those with a fondness for ‘Noir,’ an interest in the past, contemporary Irish writing, or simply an appreciation of excellent prose. Admirers should snap this one up!

Brian McGilloway hails from Derry and was nominated for a Crime Writers Association Dagger award for his debut novel ‘Borderlands.’

Eoin McNamee is an Irish writer and the current Writer in Residence for Libraries NI March’s ‘Creativity Month.’ Eoin is best known for his gritty Northern Irish political crime novels including ‘Resurrection Man,’ ‘The Ultras,’ ‘12 23’ and the ‘Blue’ trilogy which was nominated for the Booker prize in 2001.

He is the current Writer in Residence for Libraries NI March’s ‘Creativity Month.’

Stuart Neville is best known for his novel ‘Twelve.’ He is currently receiving notoriety having international success following his recent nomination for best novel at the 2015 Edgar Allan Poe Awards for his new book ‘The Final Silence.’

Steve Cavanagh was raised in Belfast and initially qualified as a solicitor. His debut novel, ‘The Defence,’ is the first in a new, US-based legal thriller series featuring Eddie Flynn, former con-artist turned trial lawyer. It will be published in Spring 2015, and viewed as a major debut. Translation rights have been sold worldwide and Steve is most definitely one to watch.

This will be an excellent evening showcasing some of Northern Ireland’s crime writing literati.
