Trucker set to represent Northern Ireland

It’s a proud achievement from Lurgan’s Tom Harte, vocalist and guitarist with the Northern Ireland supergroup.

He said: “I can’t express how excited we are to be playing and representing Northern Ireland at Download this year. We have been working really hard this year to get the band’s music in front of as many people as possible and I am glad the hard work paid off. Let’s hope this leads to bigger and better things.

He added: “I used to stay up until three in morning waiting for Noisy Mothers to come on so I could see the highlights of Donington and now to be included in that festival is literally a dream come true. Co-incidentally Krusher from Noisy Mothers has a copy of our album.”

Trucker Diablo began life in early 2008 when four friends came together to play the music that defined them as individuals. They were hailed as a Northern Ireland super group due to the band members successful past. Simon Haddock had been a previous member of Joyrider while Tom Harte and Terry Crawford were members of acclaimed Hard Rock outfit Tilted.

Their recently released debut album ‘The Devil Rhythm’ has put the band on the map. Their Download slot makes them even more of a force to be reckoned with.

Tom said: “Things have went a bit crazy since the Download announcement and we have about 12 shows to do between now and the end of August with a nice slot at the Sunflowerfest. We are waiting to hear about Glasgowbury and Hard Rock Hell festivals so if we get those it will be great for us as well.”
