Trust celebrating Care Day

The Countdown is on to the first ever Care Day NI, co-ordinated by VOYPIC (Voice of Young People in Care).

The Southern Trust will be taking part on February 19 to celebrate children in care and care leavers across the UK and Ireland. A number of events will be organised by Children and Young People’s Services across the Trust.

The build-up to Care Day will commence with two free workshops aimed at staff and Foster Carers on online safety for young people in foster care and residential care. The events will take place on Monday 15th February in Armagh Business Park from 11am–12noon and 2pm to 3pm.

Young people from the 16 Plus Service will be also be raising the profile of care and care leavers for Care Day. They will be hosting a stands as follows: South Tyrone Hospital Dining Room: Wednesday 17th February, 9.30am - 11am & 12pm - 2pm; Daisy Hill Dining Room: Thursday 18th February, 9.30am-11am & 12pm-2pm; Craigavon Hospital Front Foyer – Friday 19th February, 10am–2pm
