Turner Prize welcomed to UK City of Culture

SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has welcomed the opening in Londonderry today of the world-renowned Turner Prize art exhibition.

Mr Durkan said: “I warmly welcome the opening of the Turner Prize – which is one of the world’s most prestigious art events.

“The exhibition is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors to Derry over the next couple of months which is a great opportunity to showcase our city and all it has to offer.

“I hope it is enjoyed and argued about by citizens and visitors alike.”
