UNICEF to hold local fundraiser next week

A musical evening in Portballintrae Village Hall on Wednesday, August 20 has been arranged by the Coleraine and District Unicef committee to raise funds. The programme ‘Making Music for Unicef’ will offer a selection of traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and Northumbria. The Northumbrian group, Pipers’ Wyrd, consisting of Hazel and Chris Metherill and vocalist Ednie Wilson, will perform on the Northumbrian small pipes and the nyckelharpa, an instrument similar to a zither. They will be joined by the local group, the Dunseverick Accordionayres. Tickets from the Bayview Hotel.

Tickets can be obtained from members of the local Unicef committee or from the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae.
