Very special line-up for SONI gig at Hagues

PROMOTERS SO:NI (Sounds of N.I) will be hosting a very special line-up as part of their monthly series of showcase gigs in Lisburn, at Hague's Bar on Chapel Hill.

This month's show takes place on Thursday June 24, and will be headlined by the Lisburn based band Rams' Pocket Radio – a project led by drummer, pianist and songwriter Peter McCauley who recently left the hotly tipped Mojo Fury to concentrate fully on this new outfit.

Highly artistic and intriguing, RPR are a strikingly original band, inspired as they are by 1950's product designer Dieter Rams, with themes of purity, simplicity and longevity in mind.

The band won the prestigious Music Quest '09 competition, and has recorded two Radio 1 Introducing Live Sessions. They have also just released their debut single 'Dieter Rams Has Got The Pocket Radios' on the Pencil Renaissance boutique label.

Special guests on the night are Silhouette – the alias of 22 year old vocalist Shauna Tohill, who created this raw, honest, piano driven outfit after the breakup of her previous band Angelfall.

She sums up the Silhouette experience best herself: "Music for me is a therapy - to the body, mind and soul. It is something which has really affected, helped and inspired me throughout my life-time so far. Silhouette as an alias allows me to create and express music from a blank sheet and also have the freedom to work with many other musicians - making it an unlimited experience every time."

Also on the bill and bringing something quite different to proceedings are brand new Lisburn band The Couth – an energetic 4-piece post-punk outfit, which will be making their SONI debut on the night.

Doors open at 8.30pm, and admission is still only 3.50.
