What’s going on in Main Street,Ballymoney?

Have you taken a walk down Ballymoney’s Main Street recently and wondered what’s going on in the ‘creative space’ being run by Big Telly Theatre Company?

Well, it’s all up to YOU what’s going on for Big Telly’s fifth Creative Shop project has arrived in Ballymoney and aims to bring the town alive, allow communities to have the chance to experience arts and creative events and to rejuvenate an empty space in the Main Street.

Alice Malseed of Big Telly explained: “Big Telly have run this project in Magherafelt, Banbridge, Ballycastle and Strabane and now Ballymoney is our fifth one.

“What we want to do is to provide an open space here on Main Street which will be open morning and afternoon until December 24th. We want to encourage people to just drop in, we want them to suggest what we do in the space and how we work with them.

“We can help to inspire ideas but Creative Shop Project works best when the public suggests ideas and we respnd to them.

One interesting aspect of the project will be a Postcard to Ballymoney where members of the public can come in and write a postcoard to their town.

“It can be about anything,” explained Alice. “They can say ‘I like this but...’ or ‘I love our fabulous cake shops...’ or ‘You could try to do this a bit better...’ All the postcards will be displayed in our window.”

Big Telly’s project has been funded by Causeway Coast and Glens Council and the space has been granted by CAN.
