'When the Day's Work is Done – Céilis, Fairs and Markets'

THE Glens of Antrim Historical Society's series of talks begins again on Friday 24 September at 8.30pm, in St Mary's Parish Centre, Cushendall, when members and friends will be entertained with a talk by the eminent historian, well-known author, broadcaster and raconteur, Alex S Blair.

The title of the talk is ‘When the Day’s Work is Done – Cilis, Fairs and Markets’.

Alex is a good friend of the Glens of Antrim Historical Society and has entertained us on several previous occasions with his memories of life in bygone days in his beloved North Antrim. Those of us fortunate enough to have heard him in the past will remember with pleasure his intimate knowledge of the local area, his empathy with the social and economic aspirations of Glensmen and Glenswomen, his gentle humour and his unique style of delivery.
