Young star search reaches exciting climax

NORTHERN Ireland's biggest ever talent search for young people reaches an exciting climax this weekend as the Citybeat Young Star Search draws to a close and Lisburn will be well represented on the day.

Over the past four months Citybeat has been searching for the next big thing aged 8-25 and on Saturday August 21 the winner will be discovered during a live final in Castle Court.

The competition has attracted thousands of entries and votes but this week things are set to reach fever pitch as Citybeat presenter Stuart Robinson explained: "This week Citybeat listeners will be voting to keep their favourite from being eliminated in the daily knockouts at Castle Court ahead of the Grand Final on Saturday.

"This is the first year there has been a category for young adults (17 +) and it is also the first year that our judges will get the final say on who takes the title."

The winner in each category will win every young singers dream - a multi thousand pound studio session with record producer Micky Modelle (Dancing In The Dark). The finished CD will then receive national radio airplay.

The public can vote for their favourite until 1pm this Friday with full video performances and voting details online at citybeat.co.uk

The live final starts at noon this Saturday in Castle Court – Belfast City Centre.
