ABC Borough Markets welcome new traders

With Lurgan Market situated at the Town Plaza and the Shambles Variety Market nestled between Armagh City’s two cathedrals at the listed Johnston Building, both hubs have an established footing in the local community, selling everything from local fruit and vegetables, flowers, fresh fish to the finest baked goods and clothing.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Kevin Savage said: “The Shambles Variety Market and Lurgan Market are at the very heart of the community. These important social hubs have been offering a safe and friendly place to pick up the finest local produce and goods for years. With an abundance of lively sounds and delicious scents, they bring a sense of vibrancy to the borough and also represent an important contributor to our local economy.

“I am delighted to see the markets grow and enhance their offering with the addition of the new traders and I would encourage everyone to wrap up warm, pop down to their local market and experience something new while supporting their local businesses.”

Lurgan Market takes place every Thursday from 9am to 3pm on the Town Plaza and The Shambles Variety Market takes places every Tuesday and Friday from 8am to 4pm on Cathedral Road and Market Square in Armagh.
