Back our town’s traders on Small Business Saturday

Local MP David Simpson has given his backing to Small Business Saturday, a UK-wide event which takes place this Saturday.

Small Business Saturday is all about encouraging everyone in our local towns to support small businesses both on the day and beyond.

This year will see the first Small Business Saturday held on one of the busiest shopping days of the year – the first Saturday in December.

David Simpson MP, who calls himself a champion of the small business community said: “Small business drive our economy. They create growth and new employment this year has been driven by Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).”

“I have visited each town within my constituency; Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown to promote this event. Small retailers offer the unique shopping experience to towns that keep both local people and visitors coming back to shop.”

“This is our opportunity to say a big thank you to those businesses that have struggled to keep their doors open and provide us with that personal service that we all enjoy.

“Its time to back small business.

“It is hoped this event will boost our small businesses and give those that provide jobs in our local community the recognition they deserve.

The Westminster MP added: “I welcome the government’s move to support small businesses; this is a campaign that I whole heartedly endorse.”
