‘Beat the Recession’ roadshow comes to Banbridge

A ‘Beat the Recession’ roadshow will be stationed at the Banbridge Tesco store on Friday (March 25) from 10 o’clock until four o’clock, with the aim of providing debt and money advice to members of the public.

The event has been organised by the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Northern Ireland, in association with Tesco Banbridge and is one of a series of roadshows planned across Northern Ireland in the coming months.

David McKay, store champion at the Banbridge store, said, “We are pleased to be able to support the fantastic work that the Citizens’ Advice Bureau does in Northern Ireland through these ‘Beat the Recession’ events.

“Events like these are particularly timely given the current economic climate, so we are delighted to be able to give our customers the opportunity to avail of the expert advice and guidance of Citizens’ Advice, who, just like Tesco, are very much at the heart of the community.”

Citizens’ Advice project co-Ordinator, Rachael Cray, added, “We are offering advice in locations such as Tesco stores across Northern Ireland through which thousands of people pass every week, so we can reach as many people as possible who may be affected by the recession, but who don’t use our services or are not aware of the support we offer.

“There are people out there who believe that nothing can be done to help them, but we will help them to realise that there is support available. We are also offering out-of-hours web chat, Skype and text message service by trained advisers.”
