Boiler scheme welcomed

NEWS from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive that a Boiler Replacement Allowance is due to be launched in September of this year has been welcomed.

Councillor Carla Lockhart, Mayor of Craigavon, speaking on the matter, said: “This is very welcome news for the people of Craigavon and indeed all of Northern Ireland.

“The previous boiler scheme was a huge success with many from the Lurgan area benefiting from it. This new scheme I believe will be equally as successful.

“It will provide grant funding to replace inefficient boilers which are 15 years or older with new energy efficient condensing oil or gas boilers”.

“This scheme comes at a time when people are struggling to hear their homes. A new energy efficient boiler will certainly help people in this situation”.
