Coleraine's Lynas Foodservice kicks off Ulster Rugby partnership

Lynas Foodservice is entering a new chapter in its involvement in sport, announcing a three-year partnership with Ulster Rugby.

The partnership reflects the wholesaler’s ambition to raise the profile of its business and build stronger connections across Northern Ireland’s hospitality and commercial sectors, aligning its name with one of the region’s most recognisable sporting teams.

“We’re excited to begin this partnership with Ulster Rugby,” said Chris Gamble, Lynas Foodservice Sales and Commercial Director. “It’s an organisation that means a lot to people across Ulster, and we’re proud to be associated with a club that has such a strong connection to the region.

“At Lynas, we’ve continued to grow and evolve, and this partnership is an opportunity to showcase what we do to a wider audience.

"We want people to recognise us as a foodservice partner that offers quality, choice and expertise across a wide range of products, while building strong relationships with the businesses and communities we serve. We’re looking forward to developing the partnership over the next three years and seeing the opportunities it brings for both organisations.”

Announcing the partnership, Hugh McCaughey, CEO, Ulster Rugby added: “We’re delighted to welcome Lynas Foodservice as a partner of Ulster Rugby. As a family-run business with a strong reputation in its field, Lynas shares our appreciation for the people and expertise that underpin success.

“We look forward to building a strong working relationship with their team and seeing the partnership develop in the seasons ahead.”

The partnership, which builds on Lynas’ existing support for grassroots sports in its local community, including Coleraine Grammar School, Coleraine Rugby Club and Coleraine Football Club, officially began on September 1 of this year and will run for three years.

As a third-generation, family-owned foodservice business, Lynas supplies more than 5,000 catering and foodservice customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland with a broad range of products including meat, seafood, fresh produce and catering essentials.

Founded in 1951 as a small family-run fish business on Brook Street in Coleraine, Lynas Foodservice has grown into the largest family-owned foodservice distributor on the island of Ireland.
