Dromore staff in charity boost

Staff at a Dromore builders’ merchants have raised more than £1,380 for charity

with an event aimed too at

thanking customers for

their continuing loyalty.

One of a series of events celebrating JP Corry’s 200th anniversary, the fundraising Night at the Races at Dromore Rugby Club gathered in the cash in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. According to organisers, the event proved popular, prizes donated by local companies for a charity raffle also contributing to what they called a “fantastic fundraising total”.

Guests on the night also tucked into food laid on by the company.

JP Corry’s Dromore manager, Paul Rodgers, cheered the charity success.

He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, suppliers and staff for supporting this event for a really worthwhile cause.

“I would also like to thank all of the local businesses that donated prizes.

“We really appreciate it.

“The money we have raised so far will help fund a specialist Macmillan nurse for more than 50 hours and will make a real difference in a many people’s lives.”

The event in Dromore is one of many being hosted by JP Corry’s 18 branches across Ireland to mark two centuries in business for the builders’ merchant.

All will raise money for local charities.
