Durkan holds Foyle seat

MARK Durkan has retained the Foyle constituency Westminster seat for the SDLP.

He polled 16,922 votes to hold the seat. Mr Durkan polled 4,824 more votes than the second place candidate, Sinn Fin's Martina Anderson. The DUP's Maurice Devenney was third, polling 4,489 votes.

People Before Profit candidate, Eamonn McCann polled 2,936 and the Conservative and Unionist candidate David Harding got 1,221 votes.
